I know this view is probably going to be unpopular, but I
think Windows is a bloated mess. The experiment has
failed, so lets go back to DOS! IT is small, doesn't
crash, and is what a x86 machine was designed to run.
Anyway, I know I sure miss setting up the config.sys and
autoexec.bat files!

No problem. Go ahead. There are plenty of programs (some of them now
free for download) available that will run on it. Many of these
programs which cost money in the 80's and 90's are now offered for free
on the manufacturer's web sites. You'll have a ball. Go for it.

But let's just not debate it. You are free to do what you want.

X86 was never made for any OS. DOS can't run latest games and stuff.

And we should all drive Ford's Model T and truckers should
use chain drive Mack trucks.
Weld iron with a hammer and forge, and B&W movies really are
best.

On the other hand The Piper Cub is still the most fun flying
machine.

And the chance of that happing is about as good as gasoline being sold for
Thirty Cents a gallon. Quit sniffing paint and come back to reality.
