Let Windows configure my wireless connection

I cannot get a wireless connection to work between my laptop and Linksys
wireless-g router. However, if I "un-check" the "let windows configure my
wireless connection" within wireless properties, then immediately I have a
connection! But, on closing down and re-booting once again no wireless
connection is operable until I once more "check" the same tick-box and then
"un-check" it. Any ideas please where I'm going so hopelessly wrong in what
I presume is a configuration issue?
Thanks
Phil

Sounds like you have two control programs fighting over configuring the
wireless card - the Windows WZC service and whatever service your wireless
card has installed. The cure for this is to decide which one you want to
control the card, then disable the other. For example, if you want to use
the wireless card's configuration program you must disable the Wireless Zero
Configuration service in the Service MMC Snap-in (Start, Run, SERVICES.MSC).
If you want Windows to control the card, leave WZC alone and disable the
card's configuration utility.

Many thanks for your response Richard.........just tried it out but no luck
I'm afraid. Exactly the same results. Seemed a logical suggestion but really
not sure where to go from here.
Thanks again.

After you disable one or the other you may need to reboot and re-configure
the network settings, if you didn't do that in the latest attempt.
