Let me stop Word from 2x spacing when I hit enter. Can't undo it!

Sometimes (esp. if I paste text formatted this way from elsewhere) Word gets
the idea that I want all my paragraphs to have a space between them. It still
claims everything is single-spaced, and won't let me change it. I really
dislike all the auto-correct functions, but this is particular is troublesome
since I can't figure out how to undo it!

It could be that the paragraph or style you pasted has some Space
Before/After. You can also see excess spacing if the vertical alignment is
set to Justified instead of Top (Layout tab of Page Setup).

Just a thought, if I am pasting from another source, I ususally use the
"paste special" feature and put the text in as unformatted text. That way it
adopts the formatting of my document and does not bring in any footprints
from other programs.
