Does anyone know how long appointments will stay in an Outlook 2003
calendar? We just upgraded from 2000 to 2003 and one user has no
calendar entries prior to April 2004.

i have access to a calendar that has entries back to the beginning of
our last rollout in 2000. I think entries should stay until deleted -
but I'd like confirmation to pass on to the user.

Thanks !!!

Right click on the Calendar icon on the shortcut bar.

Select properties.

Click on the Auto Archive tab. I think you will find that there is a tick
in the box next to "Clean out items older than" and that the time scale is
set to "6 months".

Sorry, your /Users/ box will say 6 months. Yours probably hasn't got this
option turned on. They can either turn it off, change the time scale, or
change the way that Outlook deals with the items it deletes.

Deleted items can either be moved to a file location (so that they can be
retrieved later) or they can be deleted completely.

I can't say for certain what the maximum is, but I just
scrolled back on my calendar. Entries were still there
since June 2000. I've upgraded from Outlook 2000 to XP to
2003 in the interim.

Pretty much forever, if you don't have autoarchive enabled in Outlook, or
are accessing an Exchange server set up with mailbox management policies
that delete items.
