Length Of DVD

I've just transferred 5 hours of footage from my
camcorder onto my hard drive (saved as .AVI files).
Before I put any real time into making the movie, I need
to know how much footage I'll be able to save on a DVD,
once it's authored. If it's 2 hours for example, does
that mean I'll use 2 hours of my .AVI files for the
movie, and then author a 2 hour long DVD.
 
You can write to a dvd in different bitrates or quality
levels. Most dvd software will let you record
60/120/180/240min dvds
