Grrrrrrrr!

I have a laptop with Office/Outlook 2003. My primary (desktop) PC though is
a Windows 2000/Outlook 2000 setup.

We use Exchange server for our e-mail and I have my desktop all setup to
auto-archive and so forth just the way I need it.

I've been on vacation a couple of weeks and have a TON of e-mail in my
inbox.

I set up Outlook 2003 to get my e-mail from the Exchange Server and plugged
the laptop into the network. Right before my eyes, all the mail in my Inbox
of my desktop disappeared and showed up on the laptop. So, all day, I've
been stuck working with the laptop becuase I can't figure out how to put it
back.

During setup, it gave me some sort of message about having to go to tools in
Outlook to keep the mail on the Exchange Server, but I can't find the right
place apparently and can't seem to get the right search terms for the
knowledge base.

I just want to look at the mail on the server. I DO NOT want anything
removed from the server. I want the laptop to go into "Off-line" mode and
show me what was current the last time I was connected, but not remove
anything from the server. I've got Off 2K machines all over the place that
do this. Why is it so hard in XP?

Thanks,

Tin
