I bought a new PC 3 weeks ago. I have a problem:
1: I have a 17 ' LCD LG monitor (Flatron 1740b), when I watch a DVD
the quality of the picture is not as good as it is on my TV. (which
is not an LCD TV). How can I get better picture quality? I was told
that the image should be better than my TV.!!!
Thanks!

Are you using digital input or analog? I found a huge difference [digital
being much better].

Also, LCD's really don't like any resolution other than their native one.
If you've set it it anything other than native, it will also be a big step
down in quality.

LCD COMPUTER monitors are crap for watching dvds without the proper
hardware.

Go back to CRT. LCD displays only look good at their native resolution.
When playing a DVD, it lowers the resolution so some pixels are
interpolated which gives a blocky effect.

If Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened
rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic
music.

Which model of video card are you using? And what is the rated Response
Time of your LCD monitor?

The video card is a SiS, dont know what number. The frequency reate i
60 mhz, and the monitor is on its native resolutio
