Launch apps from a page

Hi all,

I've been following the postings in this group for a couple of days and
trying to find some clues on what I'm asked to do.

Can I use IE as a container from which other existing Windows GUI
applications (.exe, .mde) can be launched and executed? What options do I
have? Is window.open a good approach?

Possibly... depending on the security permissions of the client.

Witb the release of SP2, I would avoid launching apps from a webpage.
