HI,

In a query when I use a date field with total set to Max or Last, I am no
longer able to edit the contents thro the query. Am I doing something
wrong?

I am using this with an ActionTaken table to see the Last action taken based
on the Date of action.

Thanks for any help.

Ramesh

If you were able to change that date, how would Access know which instance
of that date to change - all of them? one of them? Thats why you can't
change it. I assume you are grouping in some way.

Using an aggregate function (like Max or Last or Sum, etc) by definition
make the query non-updateable. See Access Hellp under the topic: "When can
I update data from a query?"

Thanks Skabialka,

Actually I am not attempting to change the Action Taken table. Based on
what I see in the Action Taken fields, I need to update a field in the Job
table which is also part of this query to flag Job the complete.

I am not able edit any field of any table.

Thanks again.

Thanks very much Arvin.

I am a starter and not used such codes. But I am keen on learning. Could
you tell me where to put in these codes?

Warm regards
Ramesh
