Large view/resolution size inside new mail or reply window of 2007

After opening up a fresh install of Office 2007 there are issues with the
view pane after click on 'new mail' or reply. The format of the page looks
like the font is set to 28pt; however after highlighting the page and viewing
the font size and type it is of a standard size 12pt. When reading the E-mail
through the reading pane or double clicking to open the E-mail message
everything is displayed normal. I looked all over the place for possible
options that might define settings for how the mail window is formatted,
although I wasn't able to find anything. Any words of wisdom?
 
The Zoom setting is hidden under the Other Actions option.

If you have a scroll wheel on your mouse, you can also zoom in/out by
holding down the CTRL key while scrolling with the wheel.
