I noticed after using Microsoft's update site and installing all their
latest updates for my WinXP, that it left a large txt file named "SQL.log"
in
C:\Windows\Temp\SQL.LOG.
My concerns are, can I safely delete this file (size 42.6MB) now that all
the
updates have been installed, or does this file need to be left alone.
I've had passed experiences where log a file got deleted and it caused major
problems.
All logical responses appreciated.

With no applications and or installs running and after restart, you can
delete the files from the %temp% directory.

Sounds like you may have had an ODBC trace running for some time.

Hi

Has anyone experienced this on Windows 2000 server

I have the same file, which is now 9.7Gb after almost 18months o
running. IT appears that an ODBC Trace is running, however th
location of the log file is stated as
c:\Docs&Setts...\username\... no
"c:\winnt\temp\sql.log" where I am finding the file

Thank

Trysta
