Hi

I am running XP with 3.2Ghz, 1GRam and 2 200Gb hard drives.

I have saved 1 hour of digital video into one hard drive - about 12Gb. Whenever I try to render (in Pinnicle Studio 9) or watch on anything it the computer hangs.

Any ideas? Am I being over optimitistic here?

Edward

How long does the computer hang for? That is a very large video file so it may have problems processing it. Which codec did you encode it with?

Thanks for the reply - I am a bit new to video so as far as I can say...

I used DVI quality - if that helps. It plays for a few seconds in real player then freezes. In Pinncile 9 it freezes too. I let them go for about five minutes then give up.

cntrl alt del doesn't even work.

If the mouse moves it's not quite a "freeze" ... you may well find the CPU is doing its best with the 12gb  file.

Try again ... and this time when it freezes press CRTL-ALT-DEL and wait, you may have a long wait ...

check that you have the output file name and path set and the path exists, seen similar probs before where pinnacle can't create a directory if it doesn't exist.
