Should I use Access for the following:

30 page document requesting personal & financial info from clients.(name,
birthdates, address, detailed financial info, parent's info, spuses &
spouse's parent's info, children, etc.) I want to be able to access the info
received from all clients to provide necessary info to those who need it -
mass mailings, etc. About 600 clients.

Also, is there a way to develop the document so the information can be
imported to Access therefore not needed to manually key in the info from
clients - I could give them a CD to complete the questionaire. Could it be
created in my Website for clients to access and complete on-line in a secured
environment?

What book should I purchase to get a good grip with Access's potential.

Sure, there's about 18,000 individual pieces of data by your count. Access
can easily handle 10 times that amount (in a well designed database, even
100 times that)

You can use a a runtime version of Access that would install on their
machines from a CD, a spreadsheet, or even a text file.

There are many of them. I'd say for starters though, use John Viescas's
"Microsoft Office Access 2003 Inside and Out":
