Hi, I have two computers; A & B. Computer A is a desktop with XP Home SP2
with Norton Internet Security 2004, Computer B is a Sony K315b Laptop I had
for christmas with XP Home SP2 and Norton Internet Security 2004. The two are
connected to each other with a crossover cable and Computer A has broadband
via a network adapter. Computer B can access the internet via the crossover
cable.
The trouble starts when you try to start sharing files.
The My network places on Computer A only shows folders I've decieded to
share on that computer even though it should be dispaying folders off the
laptop
The My network places on Computer B is empty.
When I pinged the computers, Computer A can't ping Computer B, when computer
B can ping Computer A.
In the network diagnostics ulitlty in help and support displays FAILED next
to
the IP Address section?
I thought a router might fix the problem but i'm not sure.
Why arn't the folders i'm trying to share on Computer B not being dispayed
in the My Network Places?
Can anyone help me please?
Thanks Dan Smith
