Laptop Question

Hi i got a Toshiba Laptop i dont know anything but the model number i just
got it 2nd hand... the problem is the Hard Drive is gone and i need a new one

Model is
Portege R100
Model no: PPR10A 04M8ZP

Can you tell me what kind of Hard drive i need for it i want a internal one...
its just i cant find anywhere for that model and i dont know how old it is
either...

Any help is appreciated

might want to take it out and measure it before ordering one.
Think that's a pretty thin/small notebook ... 2.5" hdd is popular
but drives on some are 1.8-inch and some even 0.85"

A 2,5" harddisk can be bought at any self-respecting computer store. It's
just a matter of finding a cheap one. And I wouldn't buy something as
fragile as a notebook harddisk at an online store. I mean, what if it's
broken? That'll cost you twice the shipping&handling, you know...
 
Your laptop is a Toshiba Portege model R100. Toshiba's retail price for
Portege laptops included a three-year parts and labor warranty. It's possible
that your laptop is still under warranty. For your sake, we hope the warranty
is transferrable. If not, you'll need to track down the original owner for
assistance in obtaining Toshiba warranty work in replacing your hard drive.

Or, you can buy a new 40 GB internal hard drive (4200 RPM, 0.8" height)
through any Toshiba service center. There's hundreds of them in the US.

I think the "PPR10A 04M8ZP" number you posted is your serial number.
