My laptop, just upgraded to XP sp2, and running quite well, has 128 mb's
memory. The System Information confirms 128 Total Physical Memory but puts
the Available Physical Memory at only 20mb's. This is consistent after
several "refreshes". What's going on, what is consuming memory???

Hi Jack,

What's consuming memory? All the running background processes and services.
At 128MB, I would suspect most if not all of your physical memory woud be in
use most of the time. Unused memory doesn't make sense, you want it to be in
use - sort of like a couch in the living room, what good is it if no one
sits on it? Not very useful if it just sits around looking pretty. Windows
will try to find a use for any available memory, even if just for caching of
recently accessed programs.

Thanks for the reply. I know XP likes more memory but it seems to be getting
along OK for now. I was curious...
