Laptop Freezes Up

I have a Inspiron 2650, running Windows XP Professional.
Almost daily, usually when online using Internet
Explorer, the computer freezes mid-command. I have to
completely shut the computer down and restart when this
happens.

Someone mentioned that it might be a conflict with a
video driver. I don't know what's causing it, but it's a
pain when it happens.

Any ideas?

test in safe mode with networking if using cable or dial

up,if dsl disable nonessential drivers in device manager
and all third party services in msconfig and all startup
items not needed for your dsl connection and test if the
error goes away or not.

freezing could be bad ram or overheating in the laptop.

so test both of these possibilities as well.
