I have a router who is the dhcp server at the same time. My desktop
computer has no problem to connect and to receive an ip address. My
first laptop, no problem. But the second laptop has access to the
network, can share files on the other computers, but is not able to
connect to the dhcp server on the router. The desktop runs on XP home,
the laptops on XP prof. I checked all the settings, they are all the
same.

Who can help me please ?

Regards

Check on the router if there is a setting on the router which specifies
the maximum number of "leases". It might be set for 2 and now you are
putting a 3rd machine on network.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

The router is set to allow 100 ip adresses, and I tried with the other
comuters disconnected, but it still does not work.

Any other idee ???
