laptop and standby

I would really apprciate some help with this.
Every time I close my laptop and it goes to standby, when I open it
back up, there is my email client already opened.

Would love to know the setting to change this.

which message????? I have no msgs in my inbox that are recurring...

PS I use my inbox as a clearing house, so are no msgs in inbox, when I
close oe. Inbox always empty.
