When I'm in Microsoft Paint Version 5.1 on Windows XP and I click File, Print Preview,
the language presented is in Italian even though Print and everything else is in English. How
can I change this Italian version back to English? The same things happens when I'm
in Netscape, i.e., File, Print Preview is in Italian while Print and everything else is in
English? This does not happen in Office.

Locate the file mfc42loc.dll and, if found, check its properties.

This file tells mfc42.dll what language to use in some dialog and menu
boxes. Installing a program that comes in multiple languages (or installing
an update that is not the same language as the operating system) will
occasionally drop a copy of this file that does not match the user's
language settings. Renaming or deleting the mfc42loc.dll file allows
Windows to once again use the preferred language instead of the language
designated by the mfc43loc.dll file.

NOTE: My XP installation is over 2 years old and I do not have any copies
of the mfc42loc.dll file on my system. Do NOT rename or move the mfc42.dll
file. That is a normal file and should be left alone.
