language issue

i am having a problem with vba and word.

I am getting text from a text file through vba and displaying it in a
message box in word. The text contains letters with acents such as í é á ó ú.
These are correct in the text file but once i display them in the msg box
they are distorted and are replaed with funny symbols such as úló

Any ideas what settings i must change.
Ive set the language in word but i have a feeling its something to do with vba

Try asking this in a word.vba newsgroup. I suspect this may have to do with your Word
version's language not supporting the character set you want to use, but that's just
a guess. Be sure to specify which version of Word and Windows you have, what language
version of Word and of Windows, and which language these characters are used in.
