Language default keeps changing

In my control panel, regional & language settings - all the defaults are set
to English (UK). When I enter WORD 2003, the notification bar shows English
(UK).
My problem is though, some (not all) of the WORD 2003 documents that I then
write keep defaulting to English (US). So I go into Tools, Set Language,
choose English (UK) and set it as the default. But when I go back into my
document, the language setting almost immediately reverts back to English
(US).
This doesn't happen in any of my other software programs and not even in all
of my Word documents. Any solutions please??

is shown as the setting

Thanks Stefan,

I checked the Cindy Meister link and her step number 6 seemed to solve my
language defaulting problem. In one of my affected Word documents I clicked
CTRL+A, then TOOLS/LANGUAGE/SET and chose English (UK). This worked and has
now stopped my Word document reverting to English (US) when ever I edit it.

Even though I created these new documents myself, I had used my scanner to
import in certain articles & pictures - and maybe this is why these
particular documents were defaulting to English (US) and not my set language
English (UK)!!

Thanks, Mark.

You're welcome.
