Language bar can't be activated

Hello,

I have installed 4 languages and 2 keyboard lay-outs for each language.
Nevertheless I can't get my language bar on the task bar. When I right-click
the task bar, it doesn't provide "language bar" as an option. Even when I
activate "advanced text services", Windows still doesn't display the language
bar. In fact, this option ticks itself automatically the moment I close the
Configuration Panel again.

Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance!

Hi, "ctfmon" is not even listed in startup, let alone that it is enabled. Any
suggestions for how to do that? It is present in my I386 folder though....

You should also have it (ctfmon.exe) in

C:\WINDOWS\system32
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache

If so then try adding the following registry key

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"ctfmon.exe"="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\ctfmon.exe"

[NB type single slashes for the \\ if adding manually, type is REG_SZ]

If not then, you can try using the EXPAND command prompt command to expand
the file CTFMON.EX_ (in C:\WINDOWS\I386) to ctfmon.exe .. (type expand /?
at command prompt for syntax) and copy it to your c:\windows\system32 folder

Post if anything is unclear

:

Ensure "ctfmon" enabled as a startup item in
start > run > "msconfig" > startup
