Landscape orientation won't change back!!!

I set up a document in double columns to print in Times New Roman, 12pt,
first in portrait view and it printed perfectly. Then, experimenting, I
changed it to landscape view, and it printed OK. Now, it won't accept the
change BACK to portrait view!!! What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?
 
No idea because you don't say how you are trying to switch to portrait or
which version of Word you are using.
 
Never mind, I subsequently found it was working again. For some reason, it
temporarily was refusing to switch back. I was using the Orientation option
under Page Layout.
