Have 4 computers on LAN. Two are XP and two are 98. The two 98 computers
can see and access all other computers on the net. The two XP computers can
see all computers on the net and access all but one (same one) of the 98
computers. The error msg is \\Kay is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator to find
out if you have access permission. The parameter is not correct. My
question is -- What parameter is incorrect? I have tried/changed every
parameter I can think of, but no change. I assume (hopefully correctly) that
the parameter that is incorrect is an XP parameter.

Art,

Don't you just love these error messages? They say so much, yet instruct you so
little. I'd say you need to read 2 articles.

Windows 98 browser vs Windows XP browser.

Windows XP file sharing with non-XP systems.

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" from the Windows XP computers, and
"ipconfig /all" from each computer, so we can diagnose the problem. Read this
article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely:

Chuck,

What a wealth of information! While working my way thru the articles, I
found a space at the end of the computer name that was having the trouble.
Corrected that and now everybody sees and accesses everybody! Thanks.
