I have been the host for a lan party once a month for the past year or so.
They usualy go off without a hitch, but there is always one problem. We can
not seem to get the internet to work. Expecially since windows xp came out,
we have problems networking and having the internet work. I was curious if
there was a checklist or a list of steps that i could follow when setting up
my network, of about 10-15 people, to ensure that they all have internet. I
am well read with computers and the LAN it self always works, its just that
we always get limited or no internet connectivity. And that does create
problems

The limited/no connectivity error means that the computers are set up to
get an IP address automatically via DHCP and they aren't finding a DHCP
server. You could have your friends set up an alternate network
configuration for your lan parties where they assign IP addresses
instead of using DHCP.

As for a checklist, Google Is Your Friend. I used the search term, "lan
party checklist" and the very first link looks great:

Try connecting everyone using a router (plus extra hubs/switches to have
enough sockets for everyone). Then once the router is connected everyone is
connected, and it takes care of IP addresses for you.
