LAN HACKED, PROGRAMS INSTALLED

A FRIEND WANTED TO HELP OUT , SETS UP MY PC AND CONNECTED TO NET WITH NO FIREWALL OR ANYTHING.I HAVE A DELL DIMM 4550 60 GIG HD, 2.5 PROSS 512 RAM AND SO ON .I NOTICED 54 GIG OF INFO ON MY HD, MABY 8 OF IT IS MINE.CUT TO THE CHACE I HAVE A "BDE" BORLAND DATA ENGINE IN STALLED AND A HOLE BUNCH OF JAVA SCRIPTS .ANYWAY THE ATTACKERS ARE TRANSPARENT TO ME , I AM NOT ALOUD TO REMOVE THE PROGRAMS . I AM GOING TO HATE TO FORMAT AND REINSTALL . I'M ASKING ANYONE FOR HELP . THANKS IN ADVANCE JIM
 
first you need to fix your CAPS LOCK key. Second run virus scan's spyware
scanner etc.. Before you do that make sure the firewall is up. Spyware
scanner http://www.lavasoft.de called ad-aware. Free online virus scanner
http://trendmicro.com use there free online scan.

You no longer own the machine (in the security sense). I would collect as
much info as possible and format/reinstall. Cut your losses. Trying to
salvage the machine at this point may be significantly difficult. One
suggestion would be to purchase another hard drive and reinstall the OS
from scratch on it. Cautiously move data across to the new hard drive as
needed. After you feel confident that you have moved all the data you
need... format the initial drive.
