LAN Disables on Shutdown/Startup? *** REPOST

we need more information to help. can you ping each other after restart? or post the result of ipconfig /all on both computers.

Dave,

If you're having problems with network sensitive programs not starting properly
when there's no network (ie other computer powered off), why not replace the
cross-over cable with a switch, and a pair of straight-thru cables?

Have the switch powered on first, and which ever computer starts up, in what
ever order, there will always be a network. Once both computers are powered up
and on the login screen, log each in and start the RD applications.

Switches are cheap, and can improve your diagnostics by providing status lights.
