Lack of 'median' as a function option in pivot tables

Is there a roundabout way when using pivot tables (or indeed sub totals) to select 'median' as an option rather than average? in the data I use in my particular work (train performance assessment) occasional large rogue figures can skew averages whereas median gives a much better view of underlying processes.
