Hi Lila,

A box with the following message appears on my desktop whenever I log on:

“Ktchnsnk.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.”

As requested, I have sent you the error report. How do I keep the box from reappearing?

According to
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php?type=&filter=&count=100&offset=1700

ktchnsnk.exe is a "HP program found with the Office Jet 500/600/700
series which initializes the Office Jet manager each time the computer
is booted up or rebooted."

So I would suggest you uninstall and reinstall the drivers for this
printer, if you consider the error is aggravating.

Detailed instructions for uninstalling and reinstalling printer
drivers can be found here:

Good luck

You sent who an error report? This is not Microsoft. This is a newsgroup
dealing with Windows XP and has nothing to do with Microsoft Corporation.
Your computer is very likely infected with some kind of virus, Trojan, worm
or other malware. Run a virus scan and use products like Spybot Search and
Destroy, Ad-aware, Pest Patrol, HiJack This! and Zone Alarm to clean and
protect your system.
