Hi,

I'm connecting to a site through Hyperterminal via the
modem in the PC. Settings are 7, odd, 1, hardware. Get
the login prompt on the host i'm connecting to, however
when I type certain characters (I need to type the word
login) it only displays some characters.

When typing login
If caps lock is on, it only displays L O I
If caps lock is off, it only displays g n

This only happens on 2 newer XP Pro SP1 machines.

Thanks,
Mike

Check your emulation mode and make sure it matches what the remote
terminal is expecting.

I've changed the emulation mode from autodetect (which it
pulls as ansiw) to ansi (which is what a working PC
uses). This does NOT fix the problem.

What else can I do? I've also copied the working .ht
connection file to the non-working PC and that does not
fix. I've tried a different keyboard, turning on echo
(only the same keys echo twice as I described the
condition). THis is really strange.

Thanks,
Mike
