Hi,
Quick question, when I hit the backslash key a funny looking character shows
up.
What has happened and what can I do for it?

1. Make sure you are using the correct localization for your keyboard;
i.e., U.S. (not U.S. International) and not U.K. etc. Look in the
Regional Settings applet in Control Panel.

2. Try a different keyboard. Perhaps one of your other keys is stuck.
