Keyboard Quits Working

I have a friend that was entering text in MSWord, and all of a sudden his
keyboard quit working. Replaced with a new keyboard, rebooted, no virus or
Trojans ect. Anyone have a clue what the problem may be other than
something gone bad on the motherboard?

I don't necesaarily know the answer but the question need clarifying. Did
the replacement keyboard work ok or did that not work also?

If both keyboards didn't work you could try using a USB connector, that
converts a ps/2 plug to a USB plug, to get it to work. In this case it most
likely is something on the motherboard not working.
