I'm sure someone here will be able to tell me...
when I key in @ I get " and when I key in " I get @
How to change?
Its probably to do with the OS. To explain - did have XP Home - crashed
recently, so installed XP Pro over it. All ok, including keyboard except the
@ and " switch and # and the uk pound sign has gone awl.

Thanks,
Pete

Hi Pete,

You need to change your Keyboard Layout,
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options >
Languages > Details

The rest is obvious

You're sitting in the UK (like me) with a UK keyboard, but you forgot to
tell windows to change from the default (US). Actually, iirc, you have
to tell it two places .. once for the language and once for the keyboard
... control panel, regional and languages, detail, and set UK English
(you may want to delete the existing one, to get the language switching
icon out of your systray). You might even manage to get UK dates and
currency formats at the same time!
