Keyboard port

I have a new XP machine I am using for a cash register; in
place of a keyboard I have a MSR (Magnetic Strip Reader)
for credit cards, the problem is XP closes the keyboard
port if there is no keyboard attached. Does anyone know
what changes need to be made to the registry to keep the
keyboard open?

Plug your keyboard into there., or get a USB stripe reader.
