Hi,

I currently have two machines-- one running WinXP Pro and
the other running Win98. I need a program for the Win98
machine that will lock my computer while I leave it
unattended, yet keep the computer on. Preferably a free
program and a small one at that, also. Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately not. All someone has to do is reboot the
computer. Thanks anyway.

And how would some seperate keyboard locking program prevent them from
hitting the reset button or power cycle it?

You can use a system password in CMOS.

I think your only failsafe would be your pc's bios having a power on
password along with a screensaver password. I know the poweron passwords
can't be reset without clearing your cmos. I can't imagine how a program
would do what you want. Even if you autorun some locking program on a boot
that wouldn't prevent someone from hitting F8 and starting your system
manually and getting into it. I guess you could disconnect the power and
reset button internally on the motherboard and really inconvenience yourself
but there's always that power cord that can be snatched out in a heartbeat.
Good luck on your quest.
