I have an odd problem, that I havent quite seen a
soloution to in here. I have an HP Pavilion, XP Home,
with SP1. Sometimes, my q w e r u i o p and right-shift
keys will just stop working. I have to use the on-screen
keyboard, and then without notice, everything works
again. I have done the following:
1) Reinstalled windows (everything worked fine after that)
2) Updated win xp - This is when things went flaky.

I am unsure exactly which update may have done it, or if
this is actaully a hardware issue with something going
bad on the laptop....no clue...anyone else have this
issue?

Try another keyboard with your computer. If the second keyboard works fine,
the first one should be replaced.

Yes right after my daughter spilled Pepsi in the
keyboard,but it was a s d f g h j k l and the enter
key.Every once in a while i would get it to work, had to
get a USB keyboard hook it up with the USB mouse so I
could use it.

Well, I have not spilled anything on it at all. I keep
it very clean using compressed air, and I see no other
reason why it does not work sometimes, and other times it
does.

Think what you might need to do is buy a keyboard that
plugs into your USB port try it if it works then its your
keyboardin the laptop,if it has the same problem it's the
software(IE:SP2)
