Keyboard keys not doing the right thing

Whenever I press shift and the @ key the computer thinks
I`ve pressed " and vice versa when I press shit and 2.
What do I need to change?

Control Panel > Regional and Language Options -- you want British
English, although I don't know if this will help with your "press shit
and 2" problem.
