Keyboard:
How can I change the keyboard mapping?
I use emacs and want every key to return a unique code.
However several keys in the numeric keypad appear to
return the same code as the corresponding key in the main
keyboard. Also, I would like access to the
extra "internet keys" at the top of the keyboard. The
keyboard is a "Microsoft Internet Keyboard".
CD-ROM:
I have heard horror tales of CD's disintegrating in
drives. Is there a way to limit the reading speed of a
drive? The writing on the front of my drive is "Benq
52.24.52 Seamless Link"
Work Offline:
It appears that "work offline" is a global setting. I
would really like it to be by application. I want email
and browser online, but folder searches, driver
installation, and media players offline. When I tell
Outlook Express to work offline, I do not want IE offline
as well. Is it possible?
Help and Support:
Is it possible to search for a phrase? I tried using
quotes but it still returns items with individual words
totally unrelated to the phrase.
CD-ROM searches:
When searching folders on a disc in my CD burner, the
results displayed are in folders listed under Documents
and Settings with pathnames too long to display.
How do I make the display show files relative to the drive?
Thanks
ps Is it better to post each question separately?
