out of the serial port and plugged them back in, it just didnt work!! The cpu
can't read it and its just not working. I can't use the keyboard nor the
mouse. Please help me I dont know what went wrong. I'm sure Im plugging it on
the right port because it has color codes.

Thanks so much if you can help me...

Hi,

I assume you are talking about PS/2 style connectors - these are round,
about the diameter of a pencil.

The keyboard plugs into the one nearest the edge of the casing, the mouse
goes in the other one.
If the connectors are USB Flat connectors about 15mm x 3mm, there should be
no port allocations usually, but the machine BIOS may have to be set to
handle them in legacy mode before the O/S boots - or you won't be able to
access safe mode etc.

IF you pulled or inserted a PS/2 plug while the PC power was on, you
burned out the ports. Only with USB can you do that safely. With two
dead ports, you can still use a USB keyboard and mouse...or buy a new
mobo.
