When adding a pieace of hardware that requires a driver, during the install
process does the drive become a perminent part of the kernel?

If I delete both the SYSTEM and SYSTEM32 directories under Windows XP, will
the drivers still load from a previous driver install?

thanks,
charles.....

Not certain about becoming a "permanent" part of the kernel.
I think that deleting the SYSTEM and SYSTEM32 folders
would be analogous to ripping out your own heart and lungs.
Not exactly a good idea.
