What is the complete *verbatim* text of that error message?

If the error message refers to Kernel32.dll then the error message
text should help to identify the probable cause of the problem.

If the error message refers to kernel32.exe or if it says "kernel32
caused......" then there is a high probability that a virus is
involved as there are several known viruses which create a
kernel32.exe file as part of the infection.

In any event as part of general good computer housekeeping you should:

1. Make sure your antivirus software is completely up to date, with
the virus definition files not more than 10 days old, and do a
complete virus scan of your computer.

2. Download, install, update, and run AdAware (free) from
www.lavasoft.de to clean any advertising spyware off your computer.

Some spyware products are well known for causing problems that result
in error messages involving kernel32.dll

Good luck
