Kerio 215 screen on bootup

On a previous install, this did not occur.

On a recent install, at each daily cold boot, I see the screen: "Opened
Connections at localhost"

This is a normal screen to select for information, but I don't want it to start
automatically.

How to disable this at startup, just the normal enable when desired?

My install is not doing that, but I can't tell you why.

Mike, you probably had used a small program named KPFSplashKiller.exe
like I always do when I install Kerio.

What you need to do is to:

1. Install Kerio as normal
2. Reboot
3. GO OFFLINE!!!!
4. Right click on the Kerio icon in the tray and shut it down ("Exit").
5. Run KPFSplashKiller.

It will alter the Kerio executable and save an unaltered version if you
like.

I still have an old copy of KPFSplashKiller.exe on my hard drive. I'll
post it to the alt.binaries.freeware newsgroup for you.

John, I don't have it so didn't load it before. Just to clarify what you said, I
have a problem, you said maybe I *used* Splashkiller. I didn't, but do you think
it would *cause* this? I'm not clear on this.

Yes, I would like to get it anyway. My server does not see binaries.

Is there a website where I can get it?

Thanks,

Mike Sa

I just got the program, John.

But maybe you can comment on my question.

You need to find the place where "PFWADMIN" is starting.

"PERSFW" is the only Kerio executable that should start.

Look in the start-up locations; Registry, StartUp directories, etc.

"Autorunsc" The commandline version of Autouns may help
<http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Autoruns.html>

i.e.

Autorunsc -a > output.txt

I thought that maybe you had used KPFSplashkiller before, and then on
this latest install had not. That would have explained why you didn't
have the splash screen before.

According to your other post you managed to find it, so I won't bother
to look for it then. The program only has to be run once, because it
alters the Kerio Firewall executable so it doesn't run the splash screen
at system startup.

Thanks for posting that Joe. That's the one I use all right. Works like
a charm too.

Thanks, that's a good place to start.

Mike, yesterday on a computer I was working on, Kerio 2.1.5 was giving
me inexplicable problems getting online. I went offline (VERY
important), then uninstalled Kerio and rebooted. Then (still offline) I
opened Windows Explorer and deleted the entire Kerio folder in the
Program Files folder. Finally, I reinstalled Kerio and rebooted, then
went back online. I started all the programs that would need access to
the internet and set new rules for them.

You might give this a try and see if it solves your problem. I know it's
extreme, but it always works for me.

Thanks for the help, John. I am saving it for the future.
And please look at my reply to Guy.

Thanks again, Guy. That was the fix!! Sure enough, PFWADMIN was there in addition
to PERSFW. I killed PFWADMIN and that fixed it.

Just as when you are asked what you consider "broken" about the sig.

You mean you can tell?

I - and others - have answered that already, I believe.

Long ago, he had an improper sig delimiter, and I recall you whining
quite a bit about that. Since he switched to the standard delimiter,
you have continued the griping, and you have repeatedly failed[1] to
answer the question. No one else is claiming that something is broken.

[1] Well, you did say that the length of the sig is not your gripe, but
that does not answer the question.
