Keeping a copy of message on mail server

How do you tell Mail to keep a copy of your messages on the server, not just
on the local hard drive? I cannot find the option in Mail.

Tools menu>accounts>select your account>properties>advanced tab, remember to
also set a date for removal or your mail box on the server will fill up,
resulting in problems from your ISP..

Steve, I just received my laptop today, and WM has no ADVANCED tab under >properties. My year-old laptop does. So far, I've found no way to retain messages on server under this new WM.
