oops wrong copy lol, i keep getting this error while trying to setup my
webmail and the servers tech wont help out at all.

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account:
'mail.digital-plague.com', Server: 'mail.digital-plague.com', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Ask the tech if you need to use another port or if you need
authentication or SSL. They don't appear to have a website but the
server name you gave does resolve to a machine running Apache so it
looks like you got the name right. Actully is it still the same error
message? Can you check and give the actual message if not.

It may be that you antivirus is not allowing the connection or causing
delays (Norton McAfee etc) or that you firewall is not set up properly
and the current error message will help someone take a guess at what is
going on.

Digital-plague.com is not your ISP. As such, your home ISP will block
your use of any port 25 SMTP server other than their own.
For an explanation of this policy, see
http://www.postcastserver.com/help/Port_25_Blocking.aspx

To send from home, you will have to substitute your home ISP's
SMTP server. If you need help with that, let us know who your
home ISP is.

yse please a lil help would be awesome, im a n00b at this email stuff haha.
my isp is frontier

Frontier as in http://www.frontieronline.com ? Assuming that is your ISP,
they have assigned you a @frontiernet.net email address, right?
If so, go to Tools, Accounts, select the mail.digital-plague.com account,
click Properties, Servers. Change the outgoing mail server (SMTP) to
smtp.frontiernet.net. Do not change the incoming (POP3) server.
Put a check in the box for "My server requires authentication", then
click the adjacent Settings button. Select "Log on using", then enter
your @frontiernet.net login credentials. Click OK. Try sending.
If you get an error message, copy it and post it here.

Account: 'Digital Plague', Server: 'mail.digital-plague.com', Protocol:
POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Login failed.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

You previously has a sending problem, but this latest error reflects a
receive problem. Either you are entering the wrong username/password,
or else that account is corrupted. One thing you might try as a possible quick fix
is to delete that corrupted account, restart Windows Mail, then
recreate that mail account. If that doesn't fix it, more drastic
measures will have to be taken.

That type of account corruption is often caused by interference from
a non-compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

If turning off the email scanning function does not resolve your problem,
consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to
suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus programs.

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:

The host 'pop3' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the
server name correctly. Account: 'pop3', Server: 'pop3', Protocol: POP3, Port:
110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

"pop3" is not the correct server name.
Who provides your email address? They should have a webpage with the
correct settings required.

Are you the same person who posted as "DeadNoise"?

If not then start a new thread of your own, it is very confusing if you nick
someone else's thread, or change your posting name.

The server name is not valid.

Who is your ISP?
What is the bit after the @ in your email address?

OK now I am getting what dial up connection do I want to use, and I use
lan
(dsl)

Tools>Accounts>select account>properties>connections.

Ensure that your account is not set to 'always connect using', remove
the checkmark and WM will use any available connection.

Also:

In Internet Explorer>tools>internet options>connections tab>select 'never
dial a connection'>apply/ok.
