How do I stop outlook from repeatedly dowloading the same email from the
server? I want to leave the email on the server but it keeps downlaoding the
same message everytime it checks the server.

is it in html format (containing adverts) ?

The symptom that you describe sounds like the normal behavior to expect when
mail is left remaining on the server. This feature is usually enabled so that
mail can be downloaded from another client app and still leave the messages for
downloading from the main client, which then purges the mailbox.

Completely false. The server and client are supposed to cooperate and not
download previously downloaded messages, even if left on the server. You
apparently don't know how POP protocols are supposed to work.

Cool, thanks - unfortunately i am using Outlook 2002 (Office XP) -
any ideas?

The most likely cause in Outlook 2002 is interference by your antivirus
program. If you scan incoming messages with the AV program, disable that
feature. Some AVs require you to uninstall and reinstall without the
feature in order to truly disable it.

Does any one have the hot fix....So we don't have to pay Microsoft more money
for fixing thier product.

Hotfixes are always free.

Call 1-800-936-4900 (press 3 for hotfixes) and tell them you're calling to
obtain the hotfix described in KB [number] and they should fix you right up.
