Does anyone know why equally patched machines would require different
downloads? Some were downloading a 248 meg patch and others were 16.8.
I looked for the network install but it looks like the same one I'd
already downloaded and installed a couple weeks ago. Has anyone else
experienced this?

If you get no help here, please try the correct group -
microsoft.public.windowsupdate.

Do a search/find on KB951847 - there are dozens of posts on that one.

If you installed the .NET 3.5 SP1 package from this page,
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...2f-5d1a-413d-8319-81da479ab0d7&displaylang=en ,
go back to that page and read the section labeled "IMPORTANT" below the
"Full Package" section. Once you install KB959209 from here,
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=136730 , KB951847 will no longer show
up in windows update. The 16 MB download is the compatibility updates, the
248 MB is the full package.

Hi Louis,

Thanks for the reply. This update appears to be a mess. I received an
update notice a week or two ago on some workstations and updated. Now
it's showing up on WU/MU on every workstation, and the install is
different on a lot of them. I had to uninstall it on quite a few also,
so it's been real time consuming, something clients don't like to see
right now, spending too much time on failed updates...
