K7M with 512 MB RAM chips?

Hello out there,

according to the manual for the K7M Athlon mainboard, only RAM chips
up to 256 MB each are allowed.

Does anyone know if it is possible (and can be recommended) to use
512 MB ones?

No, this is not possible, since the AMD 750 only swallows 128 MBit
memory chips max, just like the trusty i440BX. So 256 MiB sticks with 16
chips of 16Mx8 each are the maximum.
