"JVBER" begins a file

I received an email with an attachment of type .pdf -- when I saved it it
would not load into AcroRead. When opened in a text editor it begins
"JVBER" I have used some search-engines on "JVBER" and it may be a "web
archive". Rather than asking the sender of the message, I thought that this
question might be of general benefit.

What version of Acrobat Reader do you use? Update it from www.adobe.com and
try again. If it doesn't work, you do need to ask the sender for more info.
