When I click on attachment (set to open up in PSP7) for the first time it
takes longer to open up the prog and picture than it does if I close down
the programme and then open up again, choose another attachment and open it.
The second time is much quicker, just wondered why.

Quite prepared to have an expert correct me, but based on my existing
knowledge,

Not sure what PSP7 (Photo Studio Professional???) is, but I guess the first
time you fire it up, it does a load of initialising stuff. If you run it
again within the same login session, it has cached some of that in temporary
files so doesn't take so long 2nd time.

Cheers,

That's about right, but she doesn't say how long it takes the first time. If
it is taking really long, then I would say her resources are used elsewhere,
and needs more RAM, but I suspect you're right. By the way PSP7 is "Paint
Shop Pro v7"

Hi
Thank you both for replying. It doesn't take very long to
load up the first time, just longer than the second time.
I have 512MB Ram, 40gb Hard Disk 3.06 processor.
I know it would be quicker every time after the first
initial one if I hadn't closed down the programme, but
couldn't understand why the 2nd attachment was quicker
than the first, when it still had to open up the prog
again as I had it closed it down after the first go.
